MYSELF AS A LEADER AT LIMKOKWING UNIVERSITY OF CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY
I have been appointed to serve as the leader for the period of two years at Limkokwing University of creative technology also known as the Heart Beat of global creativity and innovation worldwide. It is an international university that offers accredited and recognized diploma, degree and masters certificates having a global presence in three continents of the world Africa, Europe and Asia. Limkokwing University has centres and campuses in London, Indonesia, china, Botswana, Swaziland and Latin America. Leadership has been an ever-changing concept for me and being a leader of this great institution for a period of two years is indeed an honourable thing. Personally I don’t see leadership as a position rather, i see it as an ability to be an encourager, a bearer of burdens, a builder, and a teacher. As a leader i need to have good strategies, characteristics such as been humble, proactive, flexible, trustworthy, polite, supportive to my advocate and followers, and empowering. I need to be committed to my work, individuals and organization at large. I should also bear in mind that every single action i take be it in decision making, problem solving, management or mentoring matters a lot.
Been the leader at Limkokwing university, I will create teams of good business analyst that will assist me in making right decisions for better management of the campus. As a leader, I would like to be known as someone who was able to get things done in an organized, complete way. I believe good leaders should be respected by their followers. I am referring to earned respect, not just because they have the title of supervisor, director or president. The values and vision of a leader needs to be clear, and in the organizational environment, they need to be concise. Being a leader does not require making listings of rules of orders and assign them to the organization members or employees. Leadership is about inspiring others, motivating them and communicating the shared vision and values of the organization effectively, and these are the approaches i will apply as the leader of Limkokwing University.
Secondly, i will make available the spread of a new creative and collaborative culture in the work environment where every member of the organization is valued and treated as a family member. This will increase the productivity of the institution and help every member achieve his or her best result. Furthermore, I will do my best in reminding the organization members of the shared mission and values of our community: to be the best creative and innovative higher education institute in the world. By focusing on this mission and goal, the community members will make sure that every task they perform is leading the organization towards its ultimate goal and vision, making sure that every member of the community and institution either students, lecturers, and all workers are all in good and reliable state and with an easy medium of communication regularly as directly as possible to listen to their complains and make changes and improvements when necessary.
Thirdly, with the presence of many organizational theories, the emphasis has migrated from the more complicated way of doing things down to, utilizational and transactional leadership in order to motivate employees to a more transformational style of leadership which focuses on the satisfaction of an individual as the motivation for an employee. Base needs still need to be met. A comfortable salary, health benefits and other needs based compensation is still necessary for employees to feel comfortable, but an employee needs job satisfaction to excel which is exactly the step i shall be taking as the leader at Limkokwing University. The employee job satisfaction is a crucial factor in leading people, and i will not overlook or overshadow it. It has been illustrated that leaders should not be manipulative and so it is logical to assume that employees should not be either. A moral standard should be utilized for both leaders and followers, as these will be my keys to moral leadership.
Thirdly , Even though every Limkokwing institution is an amazing place for learning and growth, as the leader, there are still some areas in which i would like for it to be improved on, areas such as the;
Increase Process Uniformity - The university operates 12 campuses across a varied number of regions, Managing such a vast institution where over 30,000 candidates take admission to build their careers is not an easy task. At times, our processes in terms of selections, scholarships and fees have been far from uniform. This hits our credibility in a big way and is one of the primary improvements that I would like to strive towards in this year.
Increase Cleanliness across Campuses - Again this is something which is quite evident in itself and normally it is expected to be an obvious thing to take care of. However, there have been cases of un-hygienic food and lack of cleanliness in some of our campuses leading to students falling sick. This area needs to be improved as quickly as possible.
Provide Benefits to Faculty - A world-class university is not built by buildings or infrastructure but by the quality of its faculty. Off-late it has been noticed that some of our faculty members are not satisfied with the working conditions and the pay. This is one area we need to improve on because i have a dream to make this university the best in the world.
In conclusion, being the leader at Limkokwing University of creative technology will not only be a challenging role but also an incredible one.

HOW IT MIGHT RELATE TO THE PROBLEM:
1. Cultural festival: cultural festivals are a worldwide celebrations as many students are from different cultures and backgrounds. I would unite the students by combining this many cultural events into one huge united festival. This will help the students in knowledge of other cultures and traditions by also spreading and teaching new different people their cultures.
2. Fashion shows: inviting other famous fashion designers from other countries to give out to seminars and shows to help improve and inspire the fashion students. This would help improve student motivation and determination.
3. Girl models: During the weekly fashion shows inviting famous models for the fashion shows will also help the fashion students in their endeavour.
4. Orientation: Not all students participate in the orientation before the commencement of their lectures they complain that it takes a long time and becomes bored. I will make the orientation short and interesting for the new students by learning on how they would rather the orientation to be and make it more effective on the students.
5. Tournament: The sports club have tournaments but not all students are aware of this and they are not as interesting. I would bring up competition among the students and also challenge other schools. This will help both the university and students in many ways.
6. Independence Day: students from different countries have their independence day celebrated on different days. As a leader I will make sure there are special events during each independence celebration where by all the students from other countries are united and share their national cultures and traditions.
7. Wedding: Individuals staffs or student who would like to have their wedding celebration held at the university are welcomed to do so, if needed the school will always contribute to the occasion.
8. Birthday party: I will support the idea of students having their birthdays to celebrate in the school hall of fame and organise birthday parties.
9. Naming ceremony: As a leader I am going to implement a law that allows any Limkokwing staff having a newly born baby to be able to celebrate the naming ceremony at the school premises.
10. Engagement: Engagement parties of students and staffs can be announced in advance and interested students who do not have classes at the set time are free to attend.
11. Concert: There are hardly concerts held in the university and students love concerts. I will create a small organisational body that invites bands and musicians to hold concerts at the hall of fame and perform.
12. IT Expo: There are no Expo's held in the university, I would suggest an annual It expo which facilitates first-hand interactions with market leaders and emerging companies. This will be helpful in many ways for the student's both in ICT and other departments.
13. IPHONE: The apple company have a store set up in the university but it only sells the products. I would make a partnership with the company’s engineers and programmers to work with the IT faculty, this would help both the students and lecturers in the school in their fields of study.
14. Event planner: The University has its own event planners mainly students. I will recommend hiring professional event planner's to help out in our events and occasions, during this time our students will learn a thing or two from them as it will be beneficial.
15. Guest: the university invites guests to various occasion but it doesn’t seem to always be great because most of them are students. I will recommend inviting various esteemed guests to our events and gatherings.
16. Celebrity: We hardly see a celebrity pass by the university. I will bring up inviting celebrities from different fields of jobs in our school to come and inspire our students into doing great things as students idolize them, this will be a big and amazing change for both the students and the university.
17. Plaza: the plaza serves as the centre of Limkokwing students, but complains are also made due to the noises of crowded people and inconveniences of leakage during rain. I will change the layout and make it the plaza more conducive for the students.
18. Seats: most of The seats in the plaza are old and not sufficient, the seats in class are no less better I will change both types of seats and get new comfortable ones in their place.

This can and will solve many problems that you face during your work time. For example you are working in the registry department and the students asking you about the marketing department as the information shared by your colleagues is helpful to their situation you can entertain and guide them ` this also will make the students or their parents satisfied.
